You have your website, your facebook page, your twitter, your g+ and whatever else. Nice! You are just like e.ve.ry.one else. Nothing more. If you don't have, you are losing space. If you have, you are just among the average. But you say you don't have much time for social media. You have to keep your business running, of course. You are busy with finances, marketing, hr and lots of other things. I'm not saying they are not important, but you should consider the social media stuff as well. Why?
Well... You need customers, right? Customers that come back to your website and company, right?
Here is the thing: you won't have to worry about finances, marketing, hr and so on if you don't have customers. Let's divide your business in two moments: acquiring customers and dealing with the effects of acquiring customers. That's it. Your business is not much more than this. But acquiring customers is much more difficult than dealing with the effects. Why? Because it's an unknown field. To deal with finances, you take the numbers and do reports. Then you decide what will be your next step. But with customers, my dear, ah... You never know their next move. That's why you have to be close to them and understand what they want and why they want what they want. And a very good way is to keep your social medias profiles updated. Might take some time, but you will see a growing customer engagement. That's the best thing to your company: have customers that like to be where they are and will recommend you to others.
Bringing something interesting every day is interesting
You use your social media only to share your products? Bullshit. How about bringing something more? How about information? Or curiosities? Or online articles? It's something very nice to be done, but will require some effort from you: you will have to go after it. Some research and some reading are required. But... This is good not only to your customers, but also to yourself.
Showing that you are engaged with your business and with your customers
The cool thing about your customers is that they want attention. Your attention. The same principle applies: you want to be noticed by potential customers; they want to feel unique, to be noticed by you. Why don't you spend some time checking what your customers like and start corresponding to it?
It's free dude! It's free!
You don't have to pay for it! Tweeter is free. Facebook is free. Running a blog is (most of the times) free. Use this to build a strong and solid relationship with your customers. You already know that you can find a lot of data online (for free) about your clients. Use this to your advantage.
Bye everyone, see you!
